3. New Zealand's most active volcano is Mount Ruapehu, found in the middle of the north island

Activity 2 North And South

Write about your hometown
My hometown doesn't have many people. So it's not really busy. There are colourful big parks and big blue lakes and rivers. Great fishing spots. Alot of nice picnic spots and walks. Heaps of cafes and shops.

  1. Hello Sophie,

I'm Evelyn and I will be working with the Summer Learning Journey team for 2018-2019 to read and follow amazing blog posts like yours! I am so excited to read what pops into that wonderful brain of yours and hope you have fun on this journey!

What a great start to your Summer Learning Journey! Those are some interesting facts about New Zealand, well done Sophie! Those are some interesting facts about New Zealand! I've lived here my whole life and had no idea about some of these facts so thank you for telling me more about our country. Please remember to make sure you put the information into your own words next time. You are absolutely correct, the largest city is Auckland and it's where I live! Auckland is very different to the other cities of New Zealand. There are less farm land and more shopping malls. Have you ever been to Auckland?

That is a lovely description about your hometown! I went to Greymouth when I was around 6 years old so I don't remember too much of the trip but I would love to visit all your colourful big parks and big blue lakes and rivers, thanks for your suggestions! What is your absolute favourite thing to do or place to visit in your hometown? I live in Auckland and I enjoy taking my dog to the park for walks.

It seems like you understand the importance of keeping your personal information private on the internet, well done Sophie, that is very important. You have done a wonderful job of explaining how to keep yourself safe on the internet but how might we keep others safe? How can we make sure that we won't hurt other people's feelings?

Keep up the hard work, Sophie!

    Happy blogging,
    Evelyn :D

    1. Kia ora Sophie,

I've been to Kelly Tarltons and the Auckland Zoo as well, it's one of my favourite places to visit! Perhaps you could visit again in the future, Rainbow's End is a pretty cool place to go if you like amusement parks! I agree with you, the 2 Dollar shop is so convenient. What do you usually do at the park?

      Best,
      Evelyn :)

I've never been to an amusement park before but I think it would be amazing. At the park I normally just hangout on the swings and talk to my friends or family and I like having picnics there
